Language through Audio Visual Media examination

Modern & Medieval Languages Tripos, Part IB

The Language through Audio Visual Media examination lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes (90 minutes), starting from the beginning of the first play-through of the video clip.

We timetable enough time to test the Audio Visual equipment. This usually takes only 2-3 minutes, and the examination will start immediately afterwards. Candidates will be told by the examiner and invigilator present at what time the examination will finish.

The candidates must be there from the beginning of the set-up time advertised in the Reporter.

The video clip (usually between 7 and 10 minutes) will be played twice. Candidates will be able to take notes during the first playing of the clip but candidates are only allowed to look at the questions after the first playing of the clip. Five minutes will be allowed between the first and the second playing. The clip will then be played for a second time, after which candidates will be told the exact time at which the exam will end.
