Rodrigo Cacho's main interests are comparative literature, focusing on the cultural and literary relations between Spain and Italy during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, the works of Francisco de Quevedo, textual criticism and literary genres such as satire and burlesque. His publications include: Dante y Quevedo: la 'Divina Commedia' en los 'Sueños' (Manchester Spanish & Portuguese Studies, 2003); La poesía burlesca de Quevedo y sus modelos italianos (Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, 2003), La esfera del ingenio: las silvas de Quevedo y la tradicion europea (Madrid, Biblioteca Nueva, 2012). He is currently working on a monograph on Early Modern European mock epic poetry.
