Anne Holloway specialises in the literature and culture of Early Modern Spain, particularly the poetry of the Baroque period. She is currently preparing a book length study which aims, via the analysis of the pastoral as a representative space, to foreground the potency of the pastoral vision in the work of individual poets of the Spanish Baroque. Recent publications include: 'El Fénix canta al Fénix: the pastoral phoenix in Soto de Rojas's Desengaño de amor en rimas' in Latin and Vernacular in Renaissance Iberia III: Ovid from the Middle Ages to the Baroque (Manchester University Press, 2008) and 'Arranca de Dafne sin piedad los brazos: Francisco de Quevedo's silva Farmaceutria o medicamentos enamorados', Bulletin of Hispanic Studies (forthcoming, 2009)
