Department of Spanish and Portuguese

Staff-Student Liaison

Within the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, there are regular opportunities to consult members of staff on all matters relating to the Tripos and the course of study in general.

* For SPANISH STUDENTS: Dr Dominic Keown dk209@cam.ac.uk, Head of Spanish Studies, will be available to see students during TEACHING TERM on WEDNESDAYS OF EVEN WEEKS, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. in RFB Room 103; or you can arrange an appointment within 24 hours by email.

* For PORTUGUESE STUDENTS: Prof Ian Roberts igr20@cam.ac.uk, may be contacted by email regarding any matters related to Portuguese.

The Department holds a number of meetings for students throughout the year including a meeting with Freshers, a meeting with second year students to inform them about the year abroad, a meeting with finalists to discuss Graduate Studies options, and meetings to present the Part IB and Part II scheduled papers.

The Department welcomes feedback at any time. During the year, online questionnaires are organised asking for comments on the year's work. Notification of these is sent out by email. Students are strongly urged to participate and responses are discussed by the Head of Department and teaching staff.

At Faculty level a Staff-Student Liaison Committee aims to ensure that good communications are maintained. Additionally, student members of the Faculty Board convene meetings of the colleges' student representatives to consult them on matters of concern, take up suggestions made by college reps, etc.
