Introduction to Spanish 2: Translation from Spanish and Oral A

Teaching for the translation element of this paper takes the form of four supervisions in Lent. In these supervisions you will practise translating passages from Spanish into English, looking at various aspects of grammar and style. In the examination, you will have to translate two contrasting passages into English.

Spanish Oral A

To prepare for the oral, you will have weekly oral supervisions with a native speaker. The examination consists of:

• The reading aloud of a passage taken from a text chosen by the examiners
• A conversation based on the subject of the text.

You will receive a copy of the text fifteen minutes before the start of the exam.
