Introduction to Portuguese 1: Use of Portuguese

Teaching for this paper takes the form of two language classes per week, which take you through the major points of the grammar and syntax of Portuguese, while in a weekly supervision you will practise writing in Portuguese from day one. These supervisions will take you through a graded series of topics designed to place language in context (for example, 'Smoking', 'Euthanasia', 'the Environment', etc.). All Portuguese supervisions are centrally organised by the Department, with the approval of the relevant college.

The examination for this paper will last three hours and incorporate guided writing and grammatical exercises.
