Olesya Khromeychuk teaches Elementary and Intermediate Ukrainian language open courses and supervises students of the Uk1 (Introduction to the Language, Literature and Culture of Ukraine). Prior to teaching at Cambridge, she taught Ukrainian at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London. Olesya received her PhD in History from University College London. Her research focused on the Second World War in Ukraine, specifically, the formation, activity and civilianisation of the Waffen SS 'Galicia' Division, and the creation and preservation of the memory of this military unit in Ukraine and the Diaspora. Olesya is now researching the role of women in guerrilla violence, focusing on the female members of the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
