Research Strategy Committee

Research Strategy Committee

The Research Strategy Committee is a Faculty committee which, among other things, assists with and coordinates applications for research funding. The majority of research grant applications from the Faculty have to be submitted through the Research Operations Office (ROO) of the University. Louise Balshaw is the Faculty Research Grants Administrator and should be contacted about any potential research grant applications at the earliest opportunity. Prospective applications with direct costs of over £50,000 must be sent to the Committee (via the Research Grants Administrator) (lb358@cam.ac.uk) at least six weeks before the funding body's submission deadline. The approval of Heads of Department by this date is also required.

The principal funding bodies for which notification to Research Services and Faculty approval are required are given in the links below, where the terms of their various schemes can be viewed.

  • AHRC
  • British Academy
  • ESRC
  • The Leverhulme Trust

  • Further details of the types of funding available can be found on the research section of the School of Arts and Humanities website ahssresearch.group.cam.ac.uk

Information about ethics in research can be found on the University's research site.

Any queries on grant funding should be addressed to Louise Balshaw, Research Grants Administrator.
