Cambridge ranked best in the world for linguistics

QS Rankings 2013

The QS World University Rankings by Subject placed the University of Cambridge at number one for linguistics, beating the likes of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

For modern languages, Cambridge was ranked second best, with the University of Oxford coming in at number one.

QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) have run the annual World University Rankings since 2004, but for the past three years they have also ranked universities across the globe according to 30 subjects. Their analysis, which draws upon the opinions of academics, employers and data on journal citations, places the University of Cambridge, and MML, as an international leader in the field of languages and linguistics.
