Facilities to Upload Sound and Video Materials for Teaching
Members of MML involved in formal teaching can host their audio and video teaching materials online on the Faculty's own internal media servers. On application you'll be given an initial user account and allowance, together with instructions on how to use the system. Before you can begin uploading materials you should read the following terms and conditions for using the systems and complete our copyright complicance acknowledgement form.
STATEMENT OF COPYRIGHT COMPLIANCE
In order to comply with the University's ERA/ERA Plus licences on copyright compliance and s. 35(1) of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended we ask our users who are authorised to upload teaching materials on our servers to sign the following terms and conditions BEFORE we are able to host any digital film or sound clips:
- I confirm that the materials I am submitting have been recorded from a television broadcast and not from a commercial DVD and that I must supply signed confirmation of the title, date, time and channel that the broadcast was taken from. I understand that whilst materials from commercial DVDs may be legally played in the classroom they cannot be made available online.
- I agree that the materials will be placed in a restricted access area of the server that can only be accessed via the Cam domain and that is subject to MML-password protection, not Raven. We ask that you talk to us to clarify exactly what this means.
- I confirm that the materials will only be made available to staff and students of the Faculty as part of formal teaching and that they will not be used for any commerical purposes.
