Religion; gender; family; early modern period; global encounters. My previous research has focused on the effects of the Counter-Reformation on Venetian nuns and on the Italian Jesuits who attempted to evangelize China in the late sixteenth century. My current project is entitled 'Objects of Devotion: The Material Culture of Italian Renaissance Piety'.
