REVIEWING DANTE's THEOLOGY

A Workshop

Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, University of Cambridge

Friday, 6 November 2009, 9am to 4pm

Raised Faculty Building Room 142

Description

This project brings together several of the world's leading scholars of Dante's theology, to produce the broadest possible overview of the theological dimensions of the work of Italy's national poet in a volume of essays. This volume, which will include chapters covering topics ranging from "Christian Aristotelianism in Dante" and "The theology of Dante's political thought", will act both as a survey of scholarship on Dante, a reference point for students and scholars, and as a spur for future research.

Contributors to the Workshop

  • Zyg Baranski (Organiser)
  • Claire Honess
  • George Ferzoco
  • Matthew Treherne
  • Patrick Gardiner

The workshop will be free but you are asked to register in advance by emailing Nan Taplin (nt272@cam.ac.uk).
