Introduction to Italian 2: Translation from Italian and Oral A

This is a written language paper including a translation from Italian and an essay in Italian on one of the short stories studied as part of the language course. The examination for this element of the paper will last two hours.

The oral examination is held in May, a few weeks before the written exams. It is designed to test pronunciation, reading skills and simple conversation.

For Tripos 2012, the topics for discussion are as follows:

1. Le donne italiane fra tradizione ed emancipazione. (Italian women from tradition to emancipation.)
2. I giovani d'oggi e i loro modelli. (The youth of today and their role-models.)
3. I giovani e Internet (Young people and the Internet)

The topics for Tripos 2013 will be announced on the first day of the Full Easter Term, Tuesday April 22nd 2013.
