Modern Greek in Part IB

Please note that from October 2011 only Paper Gr. 3 will be available at Part IB

Ex ab initio candidates

Candidates who have taken the Option A papers in their first year must take the following papers:

  • Language Papers:
  • Scheduled Paper:
    • Paper Gr 1: Greek literature, thought and history since 1880.

Post A-level candidates

Candidates who have taken Option B in their first year take the following language Paper:

  • Paper GR B3: Translation into Modern Greek and Modern Greek through audio-visual media

These candidates have a free choice of scheduled papers. The former papers Gr. 2 and Gr. 4 have been amalgamated to create a new Paper Gr. 4 for Tripos 2011. Paper Gr. 2 is suspended until further notice. Paper Gr. 3 is a special paper which may only be taken by candidates at Part IB or Part II who have not offered Modern Greek papers in Part IA or Part IB. Papers Gr. 4-7 can be taken in either the second or the fourth year, but not all of them will be taught in every year. Students must indicate their choice of papers by the end of May for the following academic year.
