Important notice
Admissions to Modern Greek for the MML Tripos are suspended until further notice. However, existing undergraduate students can still take Paper Gr 3, "Introduction to Modern Greek language and culture". Language courses (Certificate and Diploma) and MPhil options continue to be available.

Welcome to the Modern Greek section. On this site, you will find extensive information about learning Modern Greek at Cambridge and about the Section, including our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. There are sections detailing news and forthcoming events, student societies and other topics of interest. Please use the menu options given on the left. Information about how to contact us can be found here.
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, the joint submission of the Modern Greek Section and the Faculty of Classics was recognised as the strongest in the UK for this unit of assessment (Classics, Ancient History, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies).

The Modern and Medieval Languages timetable for the year is available here. Click on the 'begin' link, and then select the languages whose timetables you would like to consult. The timetable includes information about the rooms where lectures will take place. However, please always check on the boards outside the lecture block as there are sometimes late changes to venues.
