Liz Disley received her PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2009. Her main research interests lie in the area of 19th and 20th century German thought. Her PhD explored the concept of recognition in Hegel's philosophy, and she has also published on empathy and intersubjectivity in the work of Edmund Husserl. Her current research concerns conceptions of subjectivity in the work of Hegel and Husserl. She is the project manager and research associate for the Leverhulme/Newton Trust Project
