Research Interests:

Charlotte Lee completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2012. This was a study of self-consciousness in Goethe’s last works, and sought to establish how memory shaped his writing. Although the literature and thought of the Goethezeit continues to be her main specialism, her current work also extends to two other areas: the relationship between poetry and movement, and the life and work of the Berlin critic Alfred Kerr

Teaching Interests:

18th and 19th-century German literature, and 20th-century poetry.
