Introduction to German 1: Use of German
This is a three-hour exam, consisting of two sections:- Section A (counting for 30% of this paper). Listening comprehension (answers in English).
- Section B (counting for 70% of this paper). Textual comprehension (answers in German), including a broad question requiring 120-150 words of responsive writing. This section requires explanation of words and phrases from the text and translation of sentences into German, based on the grammar and vocabulary of the text.
