The Medieval German Research Seminar
The Medieval German Research Seminar meets in A3 New Court, Trinity College, at 11.30 on Wednesdays in term time. It is attended by academic staff, graduate students, and long-term visitors from Germany. Each term there is normally a guest speaker from Germany or the US.Formal papers, however, are not usually given. Most sessions are devoted to the discussion of reading – either of primary texts or secondary literature – undertaken by the whole group in advance. Since 2007, it has been reading its way through vernacular works of the late eleventh and twelfth centuries, considering how the literary history of the period before the Blütezeit might be re-written.
Those interested in participating should contact one of the convenors: Dr Mark Chinca or Dr Chris Young.
