This is a seminar for staff and graduate students at which papers are given by members of staff and speakers from outside Cambridge. ALL GRADUATE STUDENTS IN GERMAN ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND.

Dr Patrick Carnegy (author of Wagner and the Art of Theatre): 'Faust in his element: a musical career and its consequences.'

Lent Term 2012

Friday, 27 January. Venue: Leslie Stephen Room, Trinity Hall.
Prof. Sarah Colvin (Director, IGS Birmingham): ‘Complex Perspectives and Simple Certainties: The Case for Literature over Impact.’

Easter Term 2012

Friday, 11 May, 5 pm. Venue: Leslie Stephen Room, Trinity Hall.
Prof. Anne Fuchs (St Andrew's): 'From local impact to global icon: the bombing of Dresden in cultural memory.'

Monday, 21 May, 4.30 pm. Venue: Bateman Auditorium, Gonville and Caius College.
Eric Friedler (NDR) will introduce a screening of his 90-minute documentary film Der Sturz. Honeckers Ende. This will be followed by remarks and a discussion with the director.
