Andreea Weisl-Shaw specializes in medieval Iberian and French literature, particularly the short narrative tradition. She is currently preparing a monograph based on her doctoral research, which examines the use of medieval Castilian and French comic tales within didactic contexts (within the Old French fabliaux and a number of Spanish comico-didactic texts). She is also interested in the representation of women and the use of animals for humorous purposes in medieval texts, psychoanalysis, gender studies and theories of humour and meaning. She teaches paper Fr3, French literature, thought and history before 1300, as well as various Spanish papers.
