French Language Papers in Part II
Part II of the Medieval and Modern Languages Tripos is usually sat after spending a year abroad. The year abroad is an integral part of the course, and should be used specifically to write the compulsory dissertation and to prepare yourself for the Part II Oral examination, as well as more generally to soak up as much of the language and culture of a French-speaking area as possible.
Language Work in Part II
At Part II students are required to sit an oral exam and two written language papers. The written papers can, but need not be, in the same language but the oral exam must be taken in the same language as one of the written language papers.
