In order to find more information about the film of the Weimar Republic, you can either find books and DVDs in Cambridge, or use other websites. Also, you can read periodicals, or make use of the information provided by other universities.

Cambridge
Cambridge University has many books about film as well as various DVDs and videos that you may borrow. The books can be found in the first floor of the MML library. The films themselves can be found both in the first floor of the MML library as well as in teh German Faculty. The German faculty provides lots of films: their collection of both new and old German films is impressive!
Help from other Universities
- If Film Studies is new to you, Prof. Goldberg (Washington University) has made a very useful website, which shows how to read a film. There is also a comprehensive list of film vocabulary, which could also be very helpful.
- At BUBL there are links to useful websites that have information about films, directors, actors and actresses, plots, etc.
- Aberystwyth University provides this website, which offers links to various articles and information. The links are organised by topic, which is very helpful.
- Warwick University is perhaps the best university in Great Britain for Film Studies, and it consequently has many links on its website. Under 'Undergraduate Course' there is also a reading list of English language books as an introduction to Film Studies. More books can be found unter the topics of the 'Postgraduate Courses'.
Periodicals
- Sight & Sound is a very good film periodical which offers both news about new films and articles about directors, actors and actresses and old films.
- FIAF offers a catalogue of film periodicals from 1972 up to the present day. You need an 'Athens password' to access this information.
- Film International is another film periodical, which is also available on the web.
- filmforum is a German periodical about film and other arts, which is also available on the internet.
Other Websites
- The BFI (British Film Institute) offers a lot of information about film history as well as biographies of certain directors.
- FilmPortal.de gives information about German films as well as additional articles on specific times in German film history. The topic 'Weimar Cinema' can be found under Homepage > Topics.
- Eureka offers many old films on DVD. Their website has synopses of these films, as well as other information.
- Wikipedia is always a good website if you want to find out basic information.
